1. When you take a bath, use warm water (not cold nor hot) and use oatmeal soaking products. You can actually make an oatmeal paste just mix oatmeal with water.

2.  Always moisturize the affected area with a mild hypo-allergic lotion several times a day.

3.  After you take a bath, apply petroleum jelly unto the skin immediately.  It is recommended to apply it while the skin is still wet because wet skin soaks the petroleum jelly better.

4.  Only wear clothing that are loose and made out of cotton.

5.  Avoid being under the sun.

6.  Take a teaspoon of camphor and a teaspoon of sandalwood and mix it together to make a paste.  Apply the paste to the infected area and do this for a week at least twice a day.

7.  Mangoes are effective medicines for eczema. Boil the pulp of the mango in water and apply the paste to the skin after it has cooled down for 15 days.

8.  Honey is also a great home remedy for eczema.  When one puts it on the affected area, it disinfects it.   Honey is known for being a general antiseptic. So you no longer have to use the creams prescribed by your doctor.

Aside from those mentioned above, it is also wise to check your diet.  It is best to clear your bowels with toxins which may be the cause of the skin disease.

There are those who are affected with eczema who are given only oranges during the first 2 days around 4 times a day.

If you see yourself showing signs of improvement, you can now include foods that are rich in gram, cereals, green and leafy vegetables, salads, wheat bread and fruits.  Never include oily and spicy food in the diet.

One of the suspected causes for eczema is stress. So those who have it should learn how to live a life that is stress free. Or they should to incorporate certain activities such as exercises and yoga to remove stress in their life.
