Please be reminded that the creams and ointments that are in jars should always be closed tightly when not in use.

Use a cotton swab when getting the cream from the jar and swab them on the affected area. Never use your finger tip to do the application so the spreading of the infection would be at a minimum. 

Always do what the doctor prescribes you to do. So if the doctor instructs you to apply the emollients every 3 to 4 hours then you should make sure that you are able to do what you were told to do.  This will aid in the healing of the affected area.

It is always best to use natural skin products due to the preservatives that are in lotions and creams. This would include fragrances, soaps and detergents. 

Soaps and detergents are known to dry the skin and it is important in keeping the skin hydrated.  Remember to either use only warm or cool water for a bath and  never use hot water.  If you can avoid having to sweat, do so. 

Sweating triggers itchiness and you do not want to start the itching and scratching cycle.  Whenever it itches, apply a cold compress to lessen the itch and the urge to scratch will be at a minimum.
